law defines the elements of assault as: (a) Offense defined. -- A person is guilty
of assault if he: (1) attempts to cause or intentionally, knowingly or recklessly
causes bodily injury to another; (2) negligently causes bodily injury to another
with a deadly weapon; (3) attempts by physical menace to put another in fear of

needle on his person and intentionally or knowingly penetrates a law enforcement

or any search of the person.
Should an individual be accused of assault
in Southwestern Pennsylvania or its surrounding areas, his or her sentence has
the potential to be significantly harsher if the act:
- Was carried out
against a teacher, emergency first aid professional, public transportation driver,
person over 60, handicapped person, etc.
- Involved a deadly weapon
- Was carried out by a person with a spotty criminal record.
